Ailbhe ní Ráighne Dip Optom FAOI
Ailbhe níRáighne graduated with honours as an optometrist from DIT, Kevin Street in 1999. She then worked as an optometrist in Galway for a number of years before opening her first practice in Athenry, Co Galway in 2002 followed by the practice in Clifden in 2004.
Ailbhe continues to study extensively throughout her career, she has completed 3 modules in Behavioural Optometry. She then when on to complete modules in paediatrics and diabetic retinopathy in City University in London. Ailbhe is currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Clinical Visual Science with the University of Ulster.
Along with the above Ailbhe has undertaken specialist training in the management of dry eyes and advanced contact lens fitting and Downes Syndrome.
Ailbhe is particularly passionate about paediatric optometry and dry eye management.
Fergus Patten is a skilled craftsman and the practices clinical technician. Fergus’s passion is in ensuring all spectacles are a perfect fit for each individual. He specialises in bespoke frame fitting and adjustment. Fergus enjoys the detailed work that is involved in glazing, repairing and assembling spectacles.
Josephine joined Athenry Opticians in 2004, she has a wealth of experience in Optometry and worked in a number of other independent practices before joining Athenry Opticians. Josephine is responsible for our great selection of frames as she hand picks every one.
Ann joined the team in 2008 as a receptionist and optical assistant , having worked in a number of independent and multiple practices in the UK and Ireland. Ann has a keen interest in fashion and enjoys finding the right frame to suit each individual.
Hayley joined the team in 2010 as a receptionist and optical assistant, having worked in office administration and information technology previously. Hayley has a keen eye for detail and is excellent at putting nervous patients at ease.
